Party Time
ok so as we lost our lovely background music... i thought maybe we could share some links of our favourite music with each other, this is always great for getting to know each other better
also we could post songs for other members that we'll think they'll like...
or songs we find helpful for lifting our spirits and helping us with Loa
hey post songs if you're miserable too! it may help

Re: Party Time
.
Brilliant idea. ♥ Thanks Night.
All sent so far are beautiful too, thanks to both of you for these beautiful pieces.
As a tradition, I always start my humble contributions in this kind of threads with either Amazing Grace or Ave Maria. (yeah, I'm a bit superstitious I guess). Anyway, I already sent Amazing Grace awhile ago to PLOA so let me this time invite you to this rare audio (just audio, no video) of Ave Maria, by the heavenly voice of Barbara Bonney.

...
... a big, dewy-eyed, smiley hello to Zorba!
Awww! No wonder people get addicted after only one dose, just one line, like this. Welcome again, Selina, and thanks for this awesome dewy-eyed smiley "hello"; also for joining us—allowing your beautiful and bright star to rise on this orbit and shine in our sky here. This video was also beautiful. Thanks for your choice. This actually reminds me of what I was going to tell you in PLOA, had you come back after my last post to you there. In short, I know how you write your posts, Selina. The energy, emotions, care, effort and time you put in your posts, at least in most of them, are tremendous. Incredibly huge. Sometimes even unbelievable. But that's why you "burn out" so quickly and finally stop altogether at some point. Yes, you give us "masterpieces." Some of the most beautiful, most creative and most artistic posts I've ever seen on the web came from you. Yet, as the ancient said, "little and steady is better than much and interrupted."
So, I'm only suggesting, please don't put all this thought, energy and effort in your posts. Do this only once a week, or even once a month, and in return save your time and stay with us for longer. In our eyes, you'll still be the same Selina, always beautiful. Heck, we have members here who don't even care which letters should be capital and which small. :tng: Thank God they at least capitalize the first letter in our names so that we can at least differentiate between, say, Lotus the man and lotus the flower. (Speaking of names, it's Selina though, not Selena.) lol. But we still love them anyway, don't we? We still "get" the spirit of care and the energy of love behind their words. So even if you wrote just "Good Morning" or "Bonjour" everyday, it'd still be Selina's and still feel very Selinaful—beautiful and cheerful.
Just my opinion anyway. Thanks again my dear friend and let me tell you a little secret in the end. When I first knew you were back I got our Admin Team here immediately working on and uploading the Gallery, just for you to find a beautiful photo of Audrey when you come in.
And we did it. But you never came in.
So yes, you ladies don't even know how many hearts you really break along the way, do you?
However, Paul Valéry's words popped up in my mind and I rather laughed:
lol. Well, I take it more lightly than this though, to be honest. I guess, with women, especially beautiful women, I'm more inclined to Rubert Heinlein's:
Thanks again Selina and have a beautiful day.
(Also thanks to Mara and Roosevelt, hopefully they'll read this, for their very kind words and wishes. Please excuse me I'm back for only a minute and exceptionally for our charming princess. Chicago sounds great, Roosevelt, but I still want to manifest or perhaps control the weather wherever I might be or go, can I do this? It's a shame I still can't. Working on it though).

Re: Party Time
Oh, Baron Lotus. How I have missed thee.
This is just a short-ish reply (more than "Bonjour" -- by the way, Bonjour! -- but less than I'd like to write)...
I am so very touched by your beautiful words. I do wish I could really be as wonderful as you describe...but reading your lovely prose, I almost believe it.
I love the Audrey picture! It pops up in the sidebar every now and then, so it will serve to remind me of my role model and heroine.
Ah, I was always going to come on here eventually; I just had to prepare myself, thus:
The shrub soon stopped growing, and began to get ready to produce a flower. The little prince, who was present at the first appearance of a huge bud, felt at once that some sort of miraculous apparition must emerge from it. But the flower was not satisfied to complete the preparations for her beauty in the shelter of her green chamber. She chose her colors with the greatest care. She dressed herself slowly. She adjusted her petals one by one. She did not wish to go out into the world all rumpled, like the field poppies. It was only in the full radiance of her beauty that she wished to appear. Oh, yes! She was a coquettish creature! And her mysterious adornment lasted for days and days.
Then one morning, exactly at sunrise, she suddenly showed herself.
And, after working with all this painstaking precision, she yawned and said:
"Ah! I am scarcely awake. I beg that you will excuse me. My petals are still all disarranged . . ."
But the little prince could not restrain his admiration:
"Oh! How beautiful you are!"
"Am I not?" the flower responded, sweetly. "And I was born at the same moment as the sun . . ."
The little prince could guess easily enough that she was not any too modest--but how moving--and exciting--she was!
She isn't actually a particularly sympathetic character, this rose. She's a little vain, she's terribly high-maintenance, she's self-obsessed.
But she does love her prince. Just as Selina loves those all around her, particularly the Baron Lotus.
(and of course, the Doctor K...but we're really not going there, not here, not now, that's another story for tea and biscuits on a rainy day)
Oh, and Selena is actually correct. Not for me personally, but for the character I have my name from:
She's a circus girl who falls in love with a school teacher who is already engaged - and has been engaged for five years, to the good, calm, genteel woman his family want for him. As he works on his archaeological dig, they become friends, and - they fall for each other. But of course, he's an honourable man, so he can't break off his engagement. She ends up very heartbroken, and they sing the song above....
Well, that's enough from me for today. Curtseys and blessings to you, Baron Lotus, and to all the dear company here.
Let's end with a dance - a real party dance, authentic Italian style, with Selena and her archaeological friend (to whom her family have engaged her, not knowing he's engaged already - these are the celebrations!):

Re: Party Time
stays quiet.. i would tell you.. but i cant mention the very handsome man that sings it its one of my favourite songs.. i have far too many to just have one!
i always thought the Saxophone was difficult, until i tried to make some sort of decent sound with the Guitar.. i dont know how so many people play it.. it hurt my poor fingers! i mean its easy to work out the melody you want with the strings, but actually playing the tune without it sounding like something demented is another thing!
