I tried the Sedona Method for about a week back in 2014. I didn't like it, too many questions at the time. But I think the basic idea is complete acceptance of what we feel. Once we get over the fear of owning our own emotions, of accepting that things are less than ideal, it's easier to get calmness back. It's like you're no longer carrying all the stress of fighting and trying. I like just saying "Yes" to any negative events or feelings as described in Larry Crane's Love Yourself. When we feel bad or upset, or if we have any situation in life that we aren't at peace with like illness or finances, just say "Yes" to it. Complete acceptance opens the door to transformation. I actually practiced this during a high-stress time when school and failed love was keeping me down. I used my study break day to relax, listen to music, go for walks in nature, watch a movie, visualize, and practice the affirmation "I accept how I feel. I accept my fears and my anger, I don't have to be afraid anymore. I feel what I feel and that's OK. It's OK to be me and to feel this way. I know everything will get better, I have lots of inner strength." It worked wonders, I got my positive energy back quickly and it was so much easier to visualize after that, which also helped out a lot. Plus, if we accept anger/sadness/fear, it becomes easier to reach feeling of peace, soothing, and calm. Sometimes, I even laugh for no reason practicing the "release technique" and it feels like I'm getting lighter. From there, it's so much easier to reach feelings of joy, love, creativity, and success because we've broken the chains.

Satty, I think the two are not contradicting techniques, but different ways of approaching similar situations. Both are ways of letting the feeling exist, choosing to not resist them but let them happen in order to accept it and then grow from that point.

I'm not as familiar with the official sedona method as I am with tapping, but the ideas behind them are harmonious and can both be used with results depending on what feels natural in the moment.

I have heard of it but never tried it until this weekend.
I felt a bit stuck in a cycle of negative emotions so I thought why not give it a shot. I don't know if it was this, or just deciding I should embrace the darkness to be directed back to the light, but I feel much better already! I feel it's usually the fighting against it that makes it hard to get out. The more you fight the storm, the more you run around in circles. Once you have decided this is the way it it now and things will be better, there is a shift in vibration. The fog clears up. I love how that works. A couple of weeks a go a was a bit mad at someone. Once i have decided that this was the day I would be mad, it all cleared up and I felt happiness haha
