The Affirmation Game

I don't like the Corrupt-a-wish game (no offense Lunar) so I'm making a new game thread. The rules:

1. Just state your desire.
2. Another player grants it (untainted) but with a big difficulty before receiving it.
3. Create a personal affirmation/decision to help yourself deal with the challenge, as a way to get your creative juices flowing and help you face fear and move past it.
4. Another player states their desire and a different player gives them a challenge to respond to. And so on...

Like this....

Player 1: I want to be a bestselling author and make billions of dollars from my novels and screenplays.

Player 2: Granted! But before you become a bestselling author, you will lose your job and suffer a year of depression and unemployment.

Player 1: My affirmation/decision: I will make do with whatever wealth or money I have saved so I know being unemployed is manageable and it will end in success, and I know my family always has my back. To deal with depression, I will focus on my writing and reconnecting with friends which will keep me in good spirits. As scary as depression might be, I also know it won't last forever and I have the power to heal it with my thoughts. There is nothing to be afraid of, this is an opportunity for me to focus on writing (which I'm already good at and will only get better), make something great, and have a better career.

And then Player 2 states a desire and another player gives a challenge for Player 2 to respond to with an affirmation/decision/new thought-pattern.

Your desires and challenges can be as down to earth as attracting new friends and dealing with bills, or as outlandish as becoming a member of a secret ninja society or being trapped in Godzilla's stomach. Whatever you want.

I think this is a cool way to be creative, reframe challenges into good opportunities, get great ideas for affirmations and new thought patterns, and face fears at the same time.

My desire is to have a Halloween ball with all you lovely forum members (and of course PR will be my date )...

Granted, but before this happens, Pressie is going to play hard to get

The evil onion! But then I guess it's to be expected as he's always playing hard to get.  



Affirmation: I know he's just trying to play with my feelings and it won't work.
Decision to act/resolution of problem:

Plan A) Get a bit angry with him.



Needless to say this just makes him slip even further out of reach.

Plan B) Give him the silent treatment.



He just gives me the silent treatment back.

Plan C) Capture him and lock him up.



Backfires...

Plan D) Give up and walk away with my pride (reasonably) intact.



Which pretty much sums up my love life.

Due to my brilliant storytelling in this game, PR actually did ask me to the Halloween Ball, though whether or not we danced a la Scarface is really another story entirely...



...Mostly, I just got the feeling he was trying to kill me.

Ok so my wish is

I would love to bring in enough money, to cover christmas, bills and pet expenses over the next 3 months.

Granted! But before you get the money, your bank account will be frozen.

ok so i would try to remain calm, i would go to my bank and explain i have 3 children and i have to feed them so could they please release any money in there quickly, and i would also reassure myself and feel ok because i'm absolutely fantastic at budgeting so i can go days without my bank account..... and i would remind myself and remember that this money is coming

A Halloween Ball!? How lovely! And I claim Phantasm as my date before any of you hussies get any ideas! (The ladies of Le Cafe are not shy about saying what they want, huh!) Phantasm will probably have us dress up as Donald and Daisy Duck but that's cool with me because Donald is my favorite!!

Anyway, if I had to name a desire it would be to travel. I'd love to go back to London and I really, really want to take my mom to the county of her ancestors before she gets too old to travel.

Granted, you get to go to London for a week and you get to take your mom to the county of her ancestors before she gets too old.

However, your mom recently answered the door to a guy who was selling all sorts of farm yard animals. He is very, very persuasive and convinces her that she just has to have 3 chickens, a sheep and he throws in a cow free, just for good measure. Your mom is happy to go travelling without all of her new pets except for one of the chickens, Sam, who has a rare disease. She has bonded most with Sam due to his disease and has grown to love him like he is a son, and so she insists that Sam must come with you on your travels but the airline company say she cannot remove the chicken from the country so in protest she refuses to go on holiday but you've already purchased the tickets and the plane leaves in 24 hours.

Lollllll posay. Though you never know. Life is stranger than fiction. Good luck with that, kazoo.

Haha posay!  So you know my mother!?  (That sounds so much like her!!)

My mother and I have a great relationship, so she would completely expect to me be like "OK mom, enjoy your chicken!" as I see if I can transfer her booking and take my sweetie instead.  Then I'd send her a postcard telling her how much I am enjoying my trip and how much better it is to not to have to put up with her on my vacation.

Kazoo!! It always has to be about chickens, doesn't it! At least whenever Queen Posay is around.

I desire to regain my "Top Poster" title and stars as soon as possible; I wish for them to appear underneath my name on every post as before.

Of course, I understand if it takes a week before Admin have a chance to see to it.

Oh wow, this wish came true before I even needed to do an affirmation!
