Re: Shiny, pretty, happy things
Oh lunar, I wish I were in London in November! I'm going home
Just some quick dedications for people I've interacted with on here these last few days:
-------
For Night:
My goodness, I don't know if I should even tell you this but in this photo he looks almost exactly like my old IT teacher... amazing, smart guy that was, funny, with lovely dimples...and long hair...
Not so much in this one, from this angle. But when he smiles...!! He could totally be Chris.
For Lunar:
Northern Lights crewed power yacht
Barbies of the world for Lunar and Night:
Africa
Mexico
Peru
#Posay land
Norway
Egypt
India
Sumatra
Thailand
and more:

----
For Posay:
The Grim Reaper proposing to you
------
For President:
I googled "gangster thank you" but didn't come up with any good gifs. So instead, here's a Yahoo answer on How To Say Thank You in Gangster.
How do you say "thank you" in gangster?
Lol i know it sounds kinda strange but when i talk gangster to friends (jokingly) and say someone gives me something and i want to say thanks in the gangster language. How would i do so? I really have no idea about how gangsters say thankyou. Other than "i guess i dont have to shoot you" lol...
Answer:
"Good looking out!" or "Good lookin!"
"Mafia!"
"That's good business!"
"That's what's up!"
"Fa sho!"
So... for your little Al Pacino check-in: That's good business!
-----
For The Simplifier
Thank you for being on this forum, for shining your lovely light on us

For blueberry:
Thanks again for joining! I hope you like it here.

For Lotus, for when he gets the time to read this:

Thank you Selina. I know how much you love history and classical music, so this is for you.
And now, a classic gangster scene:

Re: Shiny, pretty, happy things
Thank you, President. *curtseys* Here's some Michelle Pfeiffer for you in return:
Night just recommended Frankie and Johnny to me in a PM literally two minutes before you put up that video! It's lovely I'll have to check out the whole movie.
To be honest it hurts me a little to see the Flower Duet paired with a person with bloody hands swearing, just as - I cannot - watch A Clockwork Orange because - well I just can't -- to me it's murder -- pairing Beethoven and Rossini with -- .....
I do love the Flower Duet, though!
And yes, gangster is not my thing as you know, President! Unless it's gangsters in Some Like It Hot:
(Is that also Al Pacino in that Godfather clip?...because I think I remember he was in it...and also Robert DeNiro??...I've always got them a bit mixed up, I think they look so similar whatever the case, good-looking guys!!)

Re: Shiny, pretty, happy things
That was very sweet of you, Selina; thank you so much. It was very smart too, revealing how sharp your memory is. It really surprised me that you still remember how I love her smile—and particularly "this" smile.
No, my dear, I'm not putting up with you, I'm rather enjoying all that you write and send. We're truly blessed to have you here with us. Please forgive me for telling everyone how much you care. Selina, my friends, not only sent a new, beautiful portrait for Posay, but also sent more pictures for others to be displayed along in the Gallery, and I finally had to apologize as the space we have in the Gallery is actually limited. Not to mention the many hours she spent searching for new smileys to be customized for almost all members here. And not to mention her daily contributions, bringing us the best from every genre or kind of material that could ever be found on the Internet—words, quotes, memes, smileys, pictures, animated pictures or gifs, movies-into-gifs, songs and video clips, etc. Truly as she said elsewhere:
I'm almost killing myself to be posting here the way I am. (here)
I therefore believe, just as a grateful member, it's time for Selina to receive the highest gesture of appreciation Le Cafe currently has to offer, which is the membership of the Founders Group. According to the latest rules, this needs a majority decision from both the Moderators and the Founders groups, and I sincerely hope that members of these two groups will kindly take my suggestion into consideration.
On the other hand, to Selina I must say, no, don't kill yourself my friend to be posting the way you are. This is exactly what I was talking about in my very first post here to you. Remember when I told you "say only 'Bonjour' but keep saying it?" So we too care about you my friend and we don't want this forum or any forum to consume or burn you out. Some of the most promising businesses failed altogether not due to their lack of resources, lack of capital or lack of customers (the most decisive factors in any business's success), but only because they miscalculated their "production capacity" and thus failed to meet the demand.
Similarly, you individually as a unit of production in this world, already successful with a very well known and attractive brand name—Selina, even registered Selina --have to pay attention to your production "capacity" and how you daily "manage" your resources, or you'll be risking, God forbid, not only your "market share" but your very existence in the market.

Lastly, my friends, I finally came to terms with Cronus, the Titan God of Time and we agreed that I may send daily, but only one post (short or long, public or private). So that's it for today. Tomorrow I'll comment on Kazoo's post (and hopefully Night's if possible), then the day after I might get back to the Sims with my brief observations and comments on your first trial. Anyway, I do apologize, again, for my lateness especially to those who kindly sent to me in private. Usually I have this PM option disabled altogether, so I sincerely hope they'll at least understand it's not out of neglect or ingratitude that I always come late to my private correspondences. Welcome Blueberry, and missing you Rodan and Bunny; take care everyone and have a great day/night.

Selina is awesome. She spends so much time trying to make others feel special. I don't think "Founder" does her justice. She needs something more distinctive. So to me, she shall be:

Re: Shiny, pretty, happy things
Ohhh!! I love waking up in the morning to find that I've manifested Lotus! *and* to find further President-ness. (Though maybe the latter person's presence is just a delayed manifestation on the part of myself and the lovely )
And of course I *specially* love it when people say nice things about me! Thank you ---
I'm absolutely thrilled and deeply honoured by your suggestion, Lotus, that I could be voted a Founder,
...nonetheless, I'm perfectly happy being a Top Poster. Even this beautiful title, I suspect, is a special touch to spoil me
I've noticed that others on the Top Posters board do not have this beautifulness activated, not even Phantasm, who (though I disapprove of the things he posts) at the moment is third on the leaderboard with about as much activity as me or Night Eyes.
Also, for aesthetic reasons -- I like the fact that my name is purple. I believe this may have been a subconscious factor in my decision to join the Prayer group (me, a devout atheist ).*
Purple, according to Wikipedia,
"...is the color most often associated with royalty, magic, mystery and piety"
among the people of the US of A and Europe
So I really appreciate my twinkling stars just the way they are.**
And PR, I'm not really a donutty or lava cakey kind of person, but I assume these are things you enjoy and so I'm very flattered.
Actually I have some rather unfortunate memories of donuts - my ex buying a big box of Krispy Kremes and getting me to try them, and then, once I'd eaten half of one, telling me they were fried in pig fat...
...and laughing so, so hard at my horror.
But cookies and brownies I have very good relations with.
^I made these last Christmas
As for killing myself...well yes I am, bit by bit, though on the other hand aren't we all in some way? The Grim Reaper stops for no man (or woman either). Time's scythe separates us all from life inevitably --
but you're right, I may start to limit my activity a little, Lotus, -- as indeed I suggested I would, Selina shall take a little bit of a vacation (or even semi-vacation) for a time. [the way drug addicts attempt to take vacations from drugs ] Indeed, I currently have so much work to do in real life that I would literally need there to be two of me to get everything done as swiftly as I would like.
There was probably something else I wanted to say, but I forgot.
I still want to reply to a couple of posts and then I'll phase myself out a little.
Selina
an "alcoholic" who's going to stop "drinking" the forum wine (as much)
[and who is quickly becoming a very spoiled princess indeed ]
* I do however honestly believe in the power of thought, and, unlike most atheists I know, in extreme circumstances I do pray to God almighty, despite the rational belief that there's nothing and nobody to pray to
** And though I know Lotus sometimes reads into things -- please note this is not a hint that I want my stars to literally twinkle!
Even though - come to think of it - that would be nice.

Re: Shiny, pretty, happy things
Oh and -- a little something more for Night Eyes:
and for Bookworm -- something that reminded me of you:
“For all cats have this particularity, each and every one, from the meanest alley sneaker to the proudest, whitest she that ever graced a pontiff's pillow — we have our smiles, as it were, painted on. Those small, cool, quite Mona Lisa smiles that smile we must, no matter whether it's been fun or it's been not. So all cats have a politician's air; we smile and smile and so they think we're villains” - Angela Carter, "Puss-in-Boots" from The Bloody Chamber
And I'm linking to my earlier post just in case some people missed it little gif(t)s for forum friends

We're happy to have you here with us at all Lotus. I hope you didn't have to give up too much in this deal with Cronus, he's a slippery and slightly dastardly fellow isn't he.
Father Time, who devours his children
[painting by Goya]
And President Roosevelt I love The King's Speech. I've never had issues with stuttering or public speaking but Bertie's quiet dignity and heroism always move me. I can really identify with him as he conquers his own demons/disability.
Also is Metal Gear as good as Assassin's Creed? I hear different things.

Re: Shiny, pretty, happy things
thanks for another lovely piccy Selina!
Lotus keep up your battle with Cronus.... just remember Zeus won! and Banished him and became King of the Gods.... my parents were going to call me Rhea, glad they didnt now knowing she was married to a man that ate his children lol
i'm assuming we have to do a little vote for Selina to become founder... if i had realised she wasnt one already we would have done it already!
and hey Selina if you really are going to become addicted to the forums and refuse to take yourself away, me and Armine can always just ban you for a day (joking of course)
i need you here so we can keep secretly manifesting forum members to come online.... Pressie you have been our main target so far.... but some are being stubborn :p

Re: Shiny, pretty, happy things
Interesting. Especially considering so many that you admire are known to love cats, such as Einstein, John Lennon, Dali, Anthony Hopkins, ShakespearePhantasm wrote:I hate cats.
I also read somewhere that Beethoven had an imaginary cat called Keys and when his father was abusive he used to get comfort from his imaginary pet.
Al Pacino on his movie where his only friend is a cat - "I was trying to be tender. The cat is a wonderful construct, it helps shape my character, it sheds light on who he is and his relationship to the world. I personally have both cats and dogs and love animals, maybe that's what came through in the film".
There are obviously many others- https://user.xmission.com/~emailbox/cat_lovers.htm
