i love Crystals
Rose Quartz, i hold this whilst talking to my body during mindfullness most nights, and i sleep with it next to my bed, they also say if you sleep with it under your pillow, it draws your soulmate to you, or you dream of them.
Blue Laced Agate, very calming and soothing, always good to hold or place on you when you're feeling stressed out.. its helped me through some hard times
Citrine.. the abundance stone... place the geode in the wealth corner of your home, or carry tumble stones in your purse/wallet for abundance, it also cleanses other crystals if place with it

Re: Shiny, pretty, happy things
Another shiny, pretty, happy thing:
Yesterday I walked into a bookstore and this book jumped out at me -- a children's book (yes, I just happened to walk into the children's section) --
called The Scariest Thing of All.
It's by Debby Gliori.
And it's about a bunny called Pip.
Pip is scared of just about everything...
He goes on an adventure into a deep dark forest and everything is frightening to him, his list of scary things is getting longer and longer...
Most of all, he's scared of a horrible sound.
RARRRR! RARRR!!
Until, that is.
He approaches the monster making it...
...and he realises...
It isn't a monster at all.
The sound that had been haunting him the whole time...
...was his tummy rumbling.
So he realises that all his fears - the things that had been frightening him - they were in fact all HIM.
HE was what he was scared of. His own mind was the scariest thing of all.
Not anything else.
Everything was just in his imagination.
The scariness of things was just in his head.
So he goes skipping around looking at "goblins" and "monsters" which are really just funnily shaped trees and brambles and telling them,
YOU'RE not scary.
I'M scary.
What a clever children's story.

Re: Shiny, pretty, happy things
To wish you all a happy Thursday, I have dedicated a song to each of you All the songs are on my ipod, so they are all songs that make me feel good but some of them match more with one or the other. There are no hidden messages, so don't read into it too much, I don't want to see Posay naked and I'm not about to dedicate my life to Armine Sorry if I left anyone out...
So here we go:
First
ok just kidding, I chose this
He gets 2 songs cause I couldn't choose.
Grazie d'esistere
So here we go:
First
Selina
You were the easiest one cause anything from 20s black and white movie songs to Julie Andrews or Disney princesses would match, but it obviously just HAS TO BEok just kidding, I chose this
Night Eyes
Because first of all you deserve a song with a guy as hot as he is in that video and second cause I love the sunny energy of that song and it reminds me of one of the happiest periods of my life Plus it reminds me how important happiness is over moneyThe Simplifier
Because anything you want- you got it and don't you forget it!Kazoo
Something chill like an ocean breezeAdam
Found this good oldie for youLittle Miss Sunshine
Something happy and lightAdi
Just cause it has always been one of my old time favorites ever since I was 18President Roosevelt
Because it's cheeky like you and has chicken in itPosay
Because this song has the most Posayish energy in my ipod, all other songs are too soft, not fiery enoughSparkle
Because you are and that's how you should feel about yourself every dayPixie-Mara
Because it's all so boring without PixieBunny
Because that's how I perceive you, soft , gentle and lovingRodan
Ohh it was hard to choose something for Rodan, cause I felt it had to be mysterious and serious like Nick Cave or Leonard Cohen. But since I insisted they all had to come from my ipod and I don't have either, I picked ERABlossomtea
Because this song is just like you and cherry blossoms against the blue sky on a sunny spring dayMA
Cause it's a cool LOA song lol and that's the most MAish on my ipodLotus
God, this has taken forever pheww, so last but definitely not least, our beloved LotusHe gets 2 songs cause I couldn't choose.

Oh my! This is so very thoughtful of you, lunar!
...I'm currently in a library but I looked at the first video without sound.
It's great! And at the moment, making me feel very homesick. I'm currently in rainy England, much as I love it it isn't hommmme...
Do you know that when I was three years old, there was a snake in my dollhouse? My parents had to evict it.

Thank you President and Nighty, I LOVE my songs
Selina, that is crazy, we have poisonous snakes in here too and sharks and alligators
but the biggest problem is the bears, they roam around houses and it is very common!
But you MUST listen to the first song WITH sound. The first time I heard it I was camping in a tent on Moreton island and our guide wanted to make us feel welcome
Nighty, here's another song that goes well with what we have been talking about

Re: Shiny, pretty, happy things
Thank you Lunar for your most beautiful post and for the effort and time you put in this lovely piece. I used to send "collective" posts and I know how much effort and time it really takes to put one together like this. Probably more than most people imagine. So I'm truly grateful for this post and especially for these lovely songs you chose for me. But with me you shouldn't have spent much time; I love everything beautiful. Besides, of all people you're the one, I assume, who knows how I love Clapton and the blues in general. (I remember I once told you this and even sent you one of his songs). Anyway, I again thank you and please excuse me for this late comment. Have a beautiful day, sweet friend.

Re: Shiny, pretty, happy things
So, I've finally finished Selina's Sunday Song Dedications, which...unfortunately aren't completely finished after all, but the list will grow if you watch this space.
I had a hard time doing this, because I'm one of those tricky people: I only listen to classical music, the closest I get to listening to something popular is when I listen to Edith Piaf's chansons. So I really can't dedicate something I don't know...
...and it means that people are stuck with songs they maybe won't love as ecstatically as I do.
But I *hope* you'll like them, too!
So voila, the Edith Piaf collection, specially chosen songs for the most active members, in alphabetical order, with English translations where necessary.
Adam
To you I dedicate my most recent favourite Piaf song, "Milord", which I enjoy playing over and over and over...
Lyrics
(chorus)
Come along, Milord!
Sit at my table;
It is so cold, outside,
Here it's comfortable.
Relax, Milord
And make yourself at ease,
Your troubles on my heart
And your feet on a chair
I know you, Milord,
You've never seen me,
I'm just a girl from the docks,
Just a shadow of the street...
Yet, I crossed you,
While you were passing yesterday,
You were so proud,
God! The sky made you perfect:
Your silk scarf
Floating on your shoulders,
You were so beautiful
You could have been mistaken for the king...
You were walking victoriously
A woman on your arm,
My God! ... How beautiful she was...
It makes my blood run cold...
(chorus)
Sometimes it's just enough
For there to be a boat
To make everything fall apart
When the boat leaves...
It brought away with it
The sweet girl with the tender eyes
Who didn't understand
She was ruining your life
Love, makes one cry
And life
Gives you all your chances
To take them back afterwards...
Come along, Milord!
You look like a kid!
Relax, Milord,
Come into my kingdom:
I heal remorse,
I sing romance,
I sing about milords,
who are unlucky!
Look at me, Milord,
You've never seen me before...
...But...You're crying, Milord?
That...I would never have believed it!...
Ah, well, there there, Milord!
Smile at me, Milord!
...Better than that! A bit of effort...
There we are!
Come along, laugh, Milord!
Come along, sing, Milord!
La-la-la...
Yes, dance, Milord!
La-la-la... Bravo Milord!
La-la-la... Encore Milord! ... La-la-la...

Padam, Padam
This tune which haunts me day and night
This tune wasn't written today
It comes from as far away as I come
Trawled around by a hundred thousand musicains
One day this tune will drive me mad
A hundred times I've wanted to say why
But it's interrupted me
It always speaks before i do
And its voice drowns out my voice
Padam...padam...padam
It comes running up behind me
Padam...padam...padam
It plays me the trick of: do you remember
C'est un air qui me montre du doigt
Et je traîne après moi comme un drole d'erreur
Cet air qui sait tout par cœur
It says: "Remember your loves
Remember cos it's your turn
There's no reason why you shouldn't cry
Encumbered with your memories
"And me, I see again those who remain
My 20 years make the drum beat
I see the succession of gestures flash by
All the comedy of love
To this tune which just keeps playing
Des "je t'aime" de quatorze-juillet
Padam...padam...padam...
The 'always's which we buy on the cheap
Des "veux-tu" en voilà par paquets
Et tout ca pour tomber juste au coin d'la rue
Sur l'air qui m'a reconnue
...
Listen to the commotion which it causes me
Comme si tout mon passé défilait
...
You need to keep some sorrow for later
I've got scores full in this tune which beats.
Which beats like a wooden heart

La foule
I see the city in celebration and delirious
Suffocating under the sun and in the joy
And I hear in the music screams, laughs
Bursting bounce around me

And the crowd just throw me in his arms.
Carried by the crowd behind us

And flow effortlessly

And leaves us both
Happy, drunk and happy.
Carried by the crowd that rushes
And dancing a mad dance
Both hands are welded
And sometimes raised
Both arms fly body
And both fall

And joy splashed by her smile

When the crowd comes to pull in my arms

L'homme a la moto
Lyrics
He wore jeans and motorcycle boots
A black leather jacket with an eagle on the back
His bike took off like a cannon shot
Sowing terror in the whole neighborhood
He never combed his hair, never washed
He had grease under his nails
But a blue heart tattooed on a bicep
Read “I Love Mom” in it
He had a girlfriend named Marylou
Who everyone pitied, a child of her time
Because everyone knew well that he loved
his bitch of a bike more than anything else
He wore jeans and motorcycle boots
A black leather jacket with an eagle on the back
His bike took off like a cannon shot
Sowing terror in the whole neighborhood
Poor Marylou begged and pleaded
“Don’t go out tonight, I’ll cry if you go …”
But her words were lost, and also her tears
In the noise of the engine and exhaust
He took off like the devil with fire in his eyes
At the RR crossing, it was like a bolt of fire
Into a speeding locomotive
And when they sorted the debris …
The found his jeans and motorcycle boots
His black leather jacket with an eagle on the back
But nothing of the bike and nothing of the devil
Who sowed terror in the whole neighborhood …

aww thank you beautiful Selina, thats a lovely song, thank you for introducing me to something new
anyways, i have limited knowledge of classical music but i found this for you, i do hope you like it, and its more 'your thing' if not... sorry lol
i also found one for Lotus whilst digging around, i hope its a version you will like
i need time to think for everyone else, and also allow everyone to enjoy Selinas beautiful videos first
