This videos a bit long and old, but there's some seriously amazing guitar playing throughout it, its also one of my favourite songs (not by James Bay ).. Paul Gilbert even plays with his teeth at one point!

Re: Party Time
Someday I'm still moving to Paris...
and partying all night...
...in a bookshop.
...and I'm dressing in men's clothes and running down the streets with my intellectual writer friends...
...and listening to Edith Piaf.
(now I just have to figure out how to manifest this future )

Re: Party Time
lol. Top Poster is for only one week (or two, or three, or even forever; depending on you and your activity every week). It's Top Poster (of the Week). As for the Gallery, and the rest of the forum in general, no "invisible great spirit" really. Everything here, believe it or not, comes either by a direct order or an indirect inspiration from these two silent ladies upstairs.
These last two pictures, yours and Ivy's, however, "surprised" us all. Believe me not even our art director could ever expect they'd come out that 'expressive' let alone beautiful. Your picture, for example, was planned to be a modification of a picture from Audrey. We even collected what we called "Audrey Bank" containing all her portraits and drawings and were waiting to decide what may go as "Selina" and what to be discarded. All of a sudden, by mere coincidence, they sent me 'this'! My first reaction, with the flower's dialog still in my mind, was: "Good Heavens! THIS is Selina. Forget Audrey."
… which leads us to the deeper level of the truth:
Every single dot on this forum is your own manifestation, my friend. That you find beautiful, or not so beautiful; pleasant, or not so pleasant; interesting, or not so interesting (needless to say including this post) is but a projection from your own heart and mind on the screen of life (and you already know this; it's just a reminder). If there ever existed an "invisible great spirit," therefore, that would be "you," mademoiselle.

I didn't think it was (necessarily) a permanent reward! Its transitoriness makes me value it all the more highly.

Ohhhh!! I feel triply honoured, Great Spirit Lotus, and a little sorry for the discarded material. Speaking of which -
(for Night Eyes - the President, though you may not know it, Lotus, seems to have developed something of a distaste for my Audreyification of everything )

I was, I must say, VERY stunned by the way it all fit together. Great minds find connections everywhere, and make them work. I salute thee - and thy invisible workers!
So does the rose. Her story (though you surely know it) continues thus...
So the little prince, in spite of all the good will that was inseparable from his love, had soon come to doubt her. He had taken seriously words which were without importance, and it made him very unhappy.
"I ought not to have listened to her," he confided to me one day. "One never ought to listen to the flowers. One should simply look at them and breathe their fragrance. Mine perfumed all my planet. But I did not know how to take pleasure in all her grace. This tale of claws, which disturbed me so much, should only have filled my heart with tenderness and pity."
And he continued his confidences:
"The fact is that I did not know how to understand anything! I ought to have judged by deeds and not by words. She cast her fragrance and her radiance over me. I ought never to have run away from her . . . I ought to have guessed all the affection that lay behind her poor little strategems. Flowers are so inconsistent! But I was too young to know how to love her . . ."
From which can be learned
- Men, whether they be little princes, lotuses, or doctors of kryptonite, frequently misunderstand women (and their complex bids for affection!)
- Apparent inconsistency can hide the deepest, most vulnerable feelings of love
- Coquettishness, vanity, and ill temper are not wonderful things, even if they typically arise from the need for attention and sprinklings of

Would you make me a solipsist, m'sieur?
Actually, what you say reminds me of the Anais Nin quote,
"We don't see the world as it is, we see it as we are."
If only it were possible to rearrange the pixels of life to be as pleasant, cosy, fun, and welcoming as this forum!
À bientôt, j'espère.

Ha, when I first saw this thread I thought the songs that first came to mind wouldn't fit in to the theme, but now I see Julie and Bing more than fit right in!
