Radical Self-Care, Radical Self-Love <3
I think until now, we have not had a topic on self-care and self-love - and all the implications of these. And I think they are so important to our well-being, and the well-being of others, that they deserve a thread.
This is that thread.
First of all, here is an article on self-care from Elephant Journal: http://www.elephantjournal.com/2014/09/radical-self-care-101/
Buddhist take on low self-esteem, including metta (loving-kindness) practice:

UC Berkeley on self-compassion as more important than self-esteem:
http://greatergood.berkeley.edu/article/item/try_selfcompassion
Fantastic article with quotes from HH the Dalai Lama:
http://www.viewonbuddhism.org/self-confidence.html
A Seven-Step Prescription for Self-Love from Psychology Today:

30 Ways to Practise Self-Love from LifeHack:
http://www.lifehack.org/articles/communication/30-ways-practice-self-love-and-good-yourself.html
What are your favourite ways of practising self-love and self-care?
And even more importantly - what are the best ways of developing self-love?
This is that thread.

Re: Radical Self-Care, Radical Self-Love <3
i think one of the best ways to practice self love is to remember no one is above or below you, if you can understand that other people are deserving of something.. then why shouldnt you be?
instead of focusing on all the bad points about yourself, make a list of all the good, the things that you do like about yourself and go over them again and again
accept yourself completely, yes you're going to be disliked by some, not everyone will agree or understand you, and not everyone will like you in life, but that doesnt mean for a second they're better than you, or they know better than you, thats just them, and thats fine, let them carry on.
love and accept yourself for your strengths and weaknesses, and when you're feeling low, give yourself a break and dont punish yourself, you can only ever do your best
