Walking the Talk Empty Walking the Talk

Last month, I attended a networking event for the first time. I left feeling like I not only did not connect to others in the group, but made an ass of myself. I was aware that I was talking with blabber coming out of my mouth, but could not understand why. It was like I had never talked to people before. I left embarrassed and wanted to hide. No, it wasn't just in my imagination. I could sense that others picked up on my strange behavior. I was intimidated by new business owners I had never met before and for some reason, the nerves make me shake and talk nonsense.

Having been raised to be modest, yet now trying to "implement" self confidence, resulted in a mess. I let it go and today was the next meeting. This month alone has been great for my confidence and purpose. My partner and I have come up with (flowed) wonderful ideas and I feel great about what I'm manifesting.

I thought to myself this morning. How do I apply this knowledge about universal laws to my own business? How do I stop shaking when I'm talking to people and just have fun? I visualized it. I did exactly what I taught in a class on "I am". I am fun. I am light. I am interesting. People are gravitated towards me. They ask me questions and are happy to talk to me. Etc, etc.

I had helped a lady with the exact same thing so I just walked my own talk. I assumed I was that person who talks less and has others interested in my work, and that they want to share their own work with me.

Well, the event was a success. People laughed at my little jokes, listened well, shared with me, and as I was about to leave, one of them invited me to a party this weekend. Not one moment of feeling awkward and wanting to hide.

I walked the talk. It felt good. I often do it, but as can be common, my anxiety and nervousness this time made me forget that it doesn't have to be hard. So I shifted it.
