What do you think: is the "act as if" the most effective LoA technique?

I always used methods that focused on feelings, and I just realized that maybe this was my greatest mistake: I should concentrate on what I want, from my own perspective (à la Neville).

What are your experiences?

I do fnd this technique difficult in some areas

so for example i want to be financially stable.. its really hard to act as if i'm abundant with money when the bills are piling up... if i was flush with money, i would be spending it like water and not worrying.. yet that will cause problems with the real situation, i'd end up in more debt lol

and i also find.... i just dont believe it when i pretend this way.

Yeah, you're absolutely right.
Sometimes you face the exact opposite that you want - so how could you pretend that everything's all right if... well, if it's not.
Especially when you're in a dangerous situation.

But I think we should see this as a vibrational thing: if you feel and think like the (wo)man you want to be, then this vibration will attract things that reflect this vibration into your life.

So it's not a quick "fix", it's more like a long-term investment.

Also while you can feel good anytime, you can't just think from your ideal self's perspective - you have to practice that.

And you need to BE this ideal self on various levels: emotional, physical, too.
So it's not just "thinking".
Your whole being must become this new YOU.

Let me quote Bashar's philosophy on this one:

"3 Phases for receiving the "version" of reality you prefer:

1. See it. (mental)

Visualize it. Imagine it. Daydream it. Visualize it clearly. You don’t need to visualize it for a long time. Short time is sufficient, but you need to visualize it clearly. You need to have a solid clear picture. Visualizing it creates the blueprint, so see it in great detail. See it ==> Become an efficient Mental Antenna to receive this "version" of reality.

2. Feel it. (emotional)

Get excited & passionate about it! How would you feel if you had it now? Feel that now! Plug into your vision with all your emotions & all your senses, as if you had it now! Involve all your senses - imagine smelling it, touching it, tasting it, etc.
Feel it ==> Become an efficient Emotional Antenna to receive this "version" of reality.

3. Be it. (physical)

Physical action. Do it! To ground the experience. Do actions that most closely mimic the actions you "see" yourself doing in your vision. Gather and use whatever props mimic that scenario, and do a "dry run". Doing this "make believe" physical action trains the body consciousness. This makes it "real for you now", so the universe then delivers it to you. NOTE: This physical action does not directly cause this desired reality to manifest. Instead, this physical action creates a more precise vibration in yourself, making you a better antenna to receive it, by you becoming more aligned to the same vibration. The reality you desire already exists. You do not have to create it. You only have to receive it.
Be it ==> Become an efficient Physical Antenna to receive this "version" of reality.

In other words,

1. See it. ===> Become a precise mental antenna to "receive" that version of reality.
2. Feel it. ===> Become a precise emotional antenna to "receive" that version of reality.
3. Be it. ===> Become a precise physical antenna to "receive" that version of reality. "

This is a great topic. I have tried the act as if method for a while but I find it difficult to pretend something is there while its not yet. I am able to visualize and see myself with the things I want but walking around 24/7 pretending I am driving a Mercedes (figure of speech) is not working for me. It only emphasizes it's not there yet.

What does work for me is just feel good. Be in joy in general because when you are in joy you are on the vibration of your desires and I must say it works like a charm. I don't even have to visualize much. I set intentions, I give it my focus until I am in the state of knowing and just feel good.

But I think this is some process that runs on auto pilot after a while. I think I subconsciously do the see it, feel it, be it... I do it this way because if I do the act as if hocus pocus I get trapped in overthinking.

I think Abe has some 'act as if games' designed for that. It doesn't necessarily mean you have to physically go out and spend money just like it wouldn't be a great idea to tell everyone you are back together with your ex, when you really are not.

For example the $50 game, where you put $50 (or GBP or Euros) in your wallet and as you walk on the street you mentally spend it on stuff. Like you go past a restaurant and tell yourself you could go and have a nice lunch there if you wanted to. And you could, cause you know very well that the money is physically in your pocket and if you chose to, you could go in and eat.
Then you walk past a shop and think you could buy this top, these sunglasses, these shoes... and by the end of the day you have mentally spent a lot of money.
I think it does have a pitfall of feeling the lack in the back of your mind though, cause you think "I could, but I obviously am not, because I can't really  afford to spend it on nonsense like that) plus to me that seems like a one off technique. You don't realistically go around shops every day just playing a game.

Or the money game where you pretend for a month that you get a certain amount of money each day and you have to spend it.
Day 1 you get $1000, Day 2 $2000 and so on, always increasing, always there for sure.
I did find with this that very soon you'll run out of things to buy.

I haven't used it very much myself, only couple times for a very short time. For example, when I wanted to get a nice camera, I would hold my old camera and pretended to take pictures, while imagining it's a bigger, much more fancier camera. or when I wanted a new phone, I would hold my hands out and make movements as if I had it in my hand while I'm using it.
Both times this technique worked and worked very fast tbh. But I have to also note that both time, like LMS said, I was in a great mood for days in a high vibration.

However I think that one must have a certain intent or expectancy to receive. Think of it as a door that you firmly hold close or don't think you are really worthy of opening.

If an actor spends hours every day to get to the full emotional feeling place of the character and physically acts out, well- sometimes pretty gruesome scenarios, then why don't they actually attract the same scenarios to their lives? Why not?

Or why don't the miserable lonely guys that watch porn and masturbate multiple times a day attract physical sex with hot women left and right when they focus with a lot of emotion, visualize, act as if and then let go?

I think it's because an actor holds his door closed intentionally, they have a knowledge that it is just a game and will not happen to them, they draw the line between their life and the character life, almost like a split personality. They have an expectancy that it will not happen.
Of course there are cases where things like fears and depression may carry on to their own lives, but generally speaking, it doesn't happen that often.

The lonely guy that watches porn doesn't believe inside he is worthy of opening the door so he may act as if, but he doesn't even expect that it may happen in real life.

I met a lady on a plane once that told me about a time she wanted to buy a particular house and the paperwork was just dragging, they couldn't get approved and everything was uncertain. She said she decided to go to the house and plant some flowers in the garden, thinking- it's that time of the year to plant these particular plants before it gets too cold, so I better do it now, so if I get it, it's done and if I don't get it- oh well, someone else is gonna have a beautiful garden.
She said the moment she planted the flowers it worked like magic, all the paperwork got miraculously done in a matter of days or weeks and they moved in much faster than she could've ever expected (AND had a lovely garden of course).
