Life is a huge mess (need to vent)

Everything in my life has been going downhill lately...I lost my job and am pretty much at home all the time. I feel lonely, and my depression is getting really bad, and I really miss my friends. I don't really see them much because they are all busy with their own lives, but I miss them so much it hurts. All I can do is remember the good times we had and I feel empty.

What is worse, I am in a real unsafe situation at home, where out of the blue our family dog, who is usually friendly, keeps biting me for no reason (and only me, not anyone else). The past week he's bitten me a few times. Last night I even had to go to the ER to get stitches. I am afraid to even leave my room now, so I am stuck here prisoner in my own room. And my brother is hesitant to give him up, so I don't know what to do.

It's such a mess I don't know what to do. I tried to think positive but it is not really helping me.
I just needed to vent, it's early morning and nobody else is awake at this time to talk to.  Crying or Very sad
Sometimes I feel like maybe it's my fault and I brought all this negative stuff on myself.

Sorry you are having a hard time.

I can help you with the dog situation.  PM me.

Venting is fine, but once you do that it's time to change direction.  You've dedicated some time to your problems, and just as I suggested to Bookworm, it's time to dedicate an equal amount of time to what you are grateful for.  It's the quickest, easiest way to change your energy.

I know it's easy to fall into a rut.  But just because you don't have a job doesn't mean you have to be stuck at home.  If you have a laptop, take it to a coffee shop and work on your resume and job search there.  Take a 10 minute walk if the weather allows.  Or heck, window shop at the mall.  You get the idea.  Anything for a change of scenery.  That will change your energy as well.

Also, having connections with other people is important but connecting with ourselves is important as well. Take this time you have to yourself to meditate and maybe look up some yoga videos online. It can be very relaxing and calming as well as give you the mental clarity you need to find the path to where you want to go.

dont be so hard on yourself, its normal to get low and feel the way you feel from time to time, the main thing is that you dont allow yourself to live there

give yourself some love and acceptance and then try to look for whats going right in your life I love you
