Imagine if...
Okay, so, this game is based on my favourite childhood game: Imaginiff.
In the board game, you go around a board and pick up cards, and there are rules, but here we will be very simple.
In the original, you get questions like this:
Imaginiff__________ were a dessert. Which would he/she be?
1. Triple Chocolate Tart
2. Apple pie
3. Creme Brulee
4. Fresh fruit
5. Port and cigars
6. Cookies and milk
Here I think we can do it in a more forumish way, and more freely, using our imaginations rather than choosing from preselected options.
So, there are three ways we can play this:
Super simple and methodical 1:
Player 1: "Imagine if I were a dessert. Which would I be?"
Player 2: "You'd be a chocolate cake. Imagine if I were a board game. Which would I be?"
Player 3: "You'd be Scrabble. Imagine if I were an LOA technique. Which would I be?"
Player 1: "You'd be going general. Imagine if..."
And so on, with as few or many players as happen to play.
Super simple and methodical 2:
Player 1: If you were a kind of chocolate, which would you be?
Player 2: I'd be Ritter Sport. If you were a holiday, which would you be?
Player 3: I'd be Halloween. If you were a historical figure, which would you be?
Player 2: I'd be Mary Queen of Scots.
More ad-lib:
Player 1: "Imagine if bunny were an animal. Which would she be?"
Player 2: "She'd be a bunny. Imagine if President Roosevelt were an animal. Which would he be?"
Player 3: "He'd be a moose. Imagine if Night Eyes were a type of food. What type would she be?"
Player 4: "She'd be vegetarian spaghetti bolognese. Imagine if LittlemissSunshine were a book chatacter. Which would she be?"
Again, and so on.
I think we should mix all three "card decks", so to speak, but maybe we could start with the first two kinds of gameplay "Imagine if I" and "Imagine if you".
Imagine if I were a scented candle. What fragrance would I have?

You'd be one of these soft bluish light green ones, spring morning rain or lily of the valley... I'm thinking of one my mom had actually, just can't explain it well lol...

Re: Imagine if...
Ohh I don't really do comics and had never heard of her, but I randomly posted a picture of her cat in another thread not long ago!!
Come to think of it, that's probably who I'd be too....or maybe her best friend. Though I'll admit that I've been Catwoman ever since I was about 3.
If Phantasm were around he'd say "you guys are hopeless" or "this games thread is so disorganized, it looks like a 60s rave, you need some method"... and I guess I have to agree in a way. I don't know what card deck people would like to stick to the most? It should definitely stay one for a while, otherwise it ends up in chaos...
I'm not sure which flower I'd be... not sure at all!
Maybe a narcissus or a daffodil...
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Though that said apparently I'm the rose from The Little Prince
Imaginiff you were a movie, which movie would you be?

Aww strawberry Martini, yum
If I was a movie, I would like to be as artistic surreal and visually beautiful as The Fall, although maybe not as sad
Although in reality I am probably a pretty simple comedy
Imagine if PR was a vegetable, what would he be?

Re: Imagine if...
Me too, Lunar... and I thought PR was evil!!
To me, Armine is a triple-layer chocolate cake -- simple and yet complex, and very sweet. (also very chocolatey )
*covers eyes* Noooo now I want chocolate cake!!!
Imagine if you lived in a historical period. Which one would you live in?

Re: Imagine if...
I would live in the impressionism art period where Van Gogh would become very depressed by painting all those selfies over and over again

Ohh that's a marvellous idea Sunshine! Come to think of it, I would too, and hang out with all the painters...be a muse maybe...
Have you seen the TV series The Impressionists? Richard Armitage plays Monet. There's also a new film (biopic? documentary?) about Van Gogh which I haven't seen with Benedict Cumberbatch playing him... I really want to see it soon, but really don't get around to watching TV these days, just the occasional YouTube clip in my breaks.

Re: Imagine if...
I agree, PR attracts bizarre things wherever he goes but like Adi he's surely a sweet potato.
I think Kazoo would be Germany: precise, hard-working, neat, full of natural beauty, and home to some of the world's most beautiful ecclesiastical architecture.
If you were a plant, which plant would you be?

Oh hmmm I'm not sure, I'd be either skiing or ice skating or swimming!!! Though most likely swimming, because though I love winter sports I'm kind of Australian and do them only once every blue moon. Swimming on the other hand is a big part of my life. My profile picture should actually be a fish!
What sport would you be, Sunshine? Formula racing?

Re: Imagine if...
Hahahaha! Yes or I would be a sports with an identity crisis because I want to be cycling, swimming, running and a whole lot more at the same time but if I have to choose I would be cycling. So are you a good swimmer Selina :-)? I am learning the chest crawl but it's hard!

Re: Imagine if...
You're a true sportswoman!
I'm not a good swimmer in terms of technique. As Murphy's Law had it, every time I seriously started my formal swimming training, something happened, e.g. I broke my arm (rollerblading down a steep hill when I was sick ), or we went travelling (most frequent occurrence), or whatever. So my technique is really pretty awful, but my swimming coaches said I was "talented"...well, I guess I've just always taken very naturally to water, all my childhood I felt better in water than in land pretty much. I can do all the strokes, just not competitively or to perfection. I swim fastest underwater, like a zippy little shark.
Of course in Australia everyone swims in the ocean as well as in backyard pools, and the ocean is mostly quite rough - lots of big waves, rips, etc. It can be dangerous. We do actually get tourists drowning because they aren't prepared for these conditions; sometimes appearances are deceiving, the waves may look ok but they're actually out to get you and pull you under and then you get caught in a rip and instead of just going with it you start to fight for your life and exhaust yourself and drown --
Well, enough about Australia. My point with all that was that the ocean isn't always conducive to the sort of swimming you do in lap pools. It gets a bit...extreme sometimes.
So, Sunshine or anyone else: If you were a famous historical figure, which one would you be?

Re: Imagine if...
Noooo keep on talking about Australia! It's on my bucket list, it's just so far away ;-) I wish I would be able to swim in a blue ocean instead of toe dipping into the brown North Sea :-) haha I am a sportswoman by heart, in practice not everything turns out the way I want to, but well, we fall and get back up right. I am absolutely no fish in the water. I had a fear of water for a long time. I let someone else answer the historical figure question, I am already a sports with an identity crisis, I am having trouble choosing the figure ..lol ;-)
